TRANSFORMATION AS PRESERVATION:

To coincide with the video art exhibition Transformations, Starta Art presents a talk about the preservation of digital art. Elizaveta Yuzhakova, fellow in time-based media conservation at the Guggenheim Museum New York, formerly curator of archive of the Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art, will give a brief overview of the history of collecting media art and the main guidelines of its preservation in the museum setting, to then introduce several principles and tools that may help artists preserve their digital work long-term to be accessible for future generations.
