Artist Statement: Iām interested in creating surreal structures that the viewer can mentally inhabit. Whether two-dimensional or three-dimensional, these spaces are meant to evoke emotions that may unground, transport, and give pause to rethink the space in which one occupies. Our minds constantly play subtle tricks on our eyes making reality sometimes feel eerie or uncanny. Places can be perceived as familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. My work explores the question of how our perceptions and psyche are impacted when we inhabit surreal or dreamlike places.
