Pop Up Vol 1

Pop Up Vol 1 show featured the work of a group of recent art school graduates. The 13 artists included in the show are Manuela Benaim, Anna Bida, Eliza Boyer, Maria Giancola, Michelle Girardello, James Hsieh, Hera H. Kim, Kerry Lessard, Reechal Mevada, Josh Miller, John Rego, Paul Warren and Christina Werkmeister.
The exhibition curated by Oxana Kovalchuk, Markus Holtby, Juan Bravo and Sabrina Puppin, was on view from March 5 through March 8, 2020 with a public opening reception on March 5. During the opening Starta Arta hosted a musical performance by artist Kabir.
The artists in this exhibition represented a variety of aesthetic and conceptual points of view expressed through different media including photography, painting, sculpture, video, and design. The curators did not attempt to draw direct relationships between the various practices but rather present an engaging group of ideas letting chance and intention overlap. Each artist represented different ideas and had different social and cultural backgrounds. Their work spanned a broad range of media and represented diverse life and/or world perspectives. All together they represented the variegate and contemporary art world.
